Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Terrific Debut
Sweet and tough voice captured in a really good production. Good songwriting as well. You won't reach Winehousian heights but this is a very strong and assured introduction.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Duffy leads new soul revolution from British Isles
It may be history repeating itself but it sure sounds good. Just as the first British Invasion made everyone appreciate rock'n'roll again, the Welsh warbler Duffy (and a few other female singers from across the pond) are reminding American listeners just how good soul music was before it was cast aside in favor of rap and hip-hop. This is not a case, however,of mere stylistic regurgitation,as in some retro artists like Lenny Kravitz. These songs stand on their own and offer a real breath of fresh air in a somewhat stale musical scene.Don't let the omnipresence of "Mercy" fool you into thinking you have heard all Duffy has to offer;that song is just the tip of the iceberg here.Buy the CD and I think you'll agree.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Bewitching
A touch of country (Dusty Springfield, sure. But what about Shelby Lynne?) added to this latest entry in the "retro soul" sweepstakes makes Aimee Duffy's "Rockferry" a standout. The comparisons to Amy Winehouse are slightly unfair. Amy dresses up in the soul tradition; Aimee inhabits it. Amy's talented (and "Back to Black" is surely a five-star album, too), but she uses soul as a marketing tool. Aimee believes in it. And I believe in her.

Best cuts: "Rockferry" (the most unusual), "Warwick Avenue" (segue to Nellie McKay's "Manhattan Avenue," djs), "Mercy" (intense!), and "Distant Dreamer" (Anthemic! Spectoresque!).

And, speaking of "Dreamer" (soon to be covered by wedding singers and "American Idol" wannabees) what a daring move it was to place that tune in the CD's closing slot. That's normally the place reserved for something quiet.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great new artist!
This is an amazing debut album. She has that new British sound. It is great to have music that both my kids and I enjoy. Her music is clean and you can enjoy listening to it while your kids are in the car. My young kids ask to listen to her music everytime we get in the car.

Great album!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - love her voice...different yet familiar...I get lost in the songs
Very worth the purchase. Duffy and band deliver songs and style reminisent of a 60's female vocalist and sound but edge-ier...I hate to compare her to Dusty Springfield but there is a tad of that in her sound amongst others. The songs stay with you and I really enjoyed most of them over and over again...she's not Amy Winehouse but Duffy draws you in with her voice with nothing but a soft hauntingly sweet sound....no cuss words....good for anytime listening.

Interview Did anyone, I wonder, ever buy just one Motown single? Or just one 2-Tone single? And while you're pondering... can you even remember what major label your favourite artist is on? Unigram, perhaps. Or Polycorpse.…

Process Explorer from CellPhoneSoft starts where task managers end. It lists all programs running on the phone, including server processes that run invisibly in the background, and are not shown by task managers. Detailed information is presented on each process, including child threads and windows, that was never before available. Process Explorer can terminate any process, provided platform security enforcement is disabled on the phone. The Cleanup command performs automated multiple termination which may lead to free memory amounts previously unprecedented. While Process Explorer is most useful on early UIQ3 phones with notoriously low memory, it is also a valuable general tool on any UIQ3 device, for analytical purposes and for killing the occasional "stray process".

Before we completely bid adieu to our nation's birthday, we here at Gizmodo would like to give one more shout out to the fourth of July. Seems like even the stars in the sky can't resist putting up a display for good ol' American freedom. These red-white-and-blue pictures of Supernova remnant SN 1006 is what's left over from a star explosion first observed by humans in year 1006.

The flash in the sky is a remnant of a blast 7,000 light-years away in the Lupus constellation. Scientists say that it was the brightest observed supernova in recorded history, and that the light from the explosion could be seen in the daytime for weeks afterward.

The supernova sent a shockwave that traveled outwards at nearly 20 million mph. In the 1960s, radio astronomers first detected the ring of material pushed out by the shockwave. With the latest imagery, released by the Hubble Space Telescope's science team, you can see a gossamer stripe with starlight shining through it – the rocket's red glare indeed.
