Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - A Different Kind Of Lep
I first bought this album back in the late 80's after wearing out my cassette tapes of High 'N' Dry, Pyromania and Hysteria. I was a little surprised by the sound of the album but still enjoyed it. Today, I think this is a case of an album aging well and as the years pass it doesn't seem so out of place in the band's catalogue. Since the release of Yeah! and Songs from the Sparkle Lounge you can really start to get a picture of where the band was coming from in the late 70's. The album is filled with great riffs by Clark and Willis and features decent vocals by Elliott who really hadn't found his voice yet. Overall it should be a staple of any Def Leppard fan's collection.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Raw Leppard
A much rawer Def Leppard than found on later albums, though it suffers somewhat from poor production and vocals that generally miss the mark.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - magic number 12
People dont realize that def leppard had good albums before pyromania and Hysteria. This album is the perfect example! On this album some songs are better than others but on this album you can listen to the whole thing and not skip a song. People overlook this album and that's not fair because this is DEF LEPPARDS in my opinion 2nd best album only behind Adrenalize. this is a great example of NWOBHM. Pete Willis in my opinion is better than Phil Collen who can't solo like him or just can't handle a guitar like him.every one in the band also avoids this album and I clearly don't understand why.I have seen DEF LEPPARD in concert and i think they might have played one song of the whole album which ... Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - You'd never guess it was Leppard if you only know their newer stuff
Over the years I've had it on 8-track, LP and CD. It's straight-forward old school metal that bears no resemblance to the radio friendly stuff that would emerge starting with Pyromania. Be sure to check out their sophomore release, "High 'n' Dry". It rocks even harder and has much better production.

Oh... "Darth Kommissar" mentioned in his review that Pete Willis and Steve Clark got kicked out of the band... Get a clue! Pete Willis WAS kicked out, but Steve Clark DIED, he did not get forced out.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - From not totally humble beginnings...
And here it is, Leppards debut album and it's not half bad. Excellent stompers like Wasted and Rocks Off backed up by solid hard rock such as It Don't Matter and Answer to the Master help lay the foundation for one of the hard rock genres biggest beasts. The outright rawk rock of High 'n' Dry as well as parts of Pyromania have their genesis here. The intro to Rocket from Hysteria has it's roots in Satellite and the bands pandering to the US market is also born here with Hello America.

In fact the work debut is so perfect for this album. The slightly cheesy hard rock of Pyromanias heavier tracks is here prequeled by Rock Brigade and by a very very long stretch I can visualise the relation ... Read More

The cost savings and efficiencies of a digital nomad lifestyle can become irresistible during recessions, and so the trend in that direction is accelerating. Here's why.

Netbeans 6.5 is recently released. Along with tons of new features, it has some enhancements for Web Services development. The foremost is that with Netbeans 6.5, you can easily develop Web Services applications and deploy on to Glassfish V3. There are are other features like configuring WS-Addressing, and exposing a SOAP based Web service as REST service through GUI caught my attention.

Nick Bradbury just had a tumor removed from his head. Glad to hear he's doing well:

The fact that I'm able to type this blog entry less than a week after the operation has me hopeful that recovery will be quicker than I was led to believe, but it will still be a few weeks before I'm able to really tackle any serious work.

Consumer electronics giant Sanyo's new stereo Internet radio--available in the U.S. in January--looks good and sounds good, but is a challenge to set up.
