Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Getting stuck, etc. / Pema Chodron.
I have not opened it yet. I did not realize I was buying a CD; I wanted the book. Is there a possibility of replacing my upopened CD with a book?

Getting Unstuck is helpful and I know I will be listening to the thoughts over and over. Nancy

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Stuck with Getting Unstuck
This cd set from Pema Chodron was a disappointment. It was my first time listening to her, and perhaps my expectations were too high. I will also say that I had just completed listening to a cd lecture series from Richard Rohr titled True Self, False Self, which I considered excellent. Getting Unstuck has honest and useful advice about how to meditate, and how difficult it is to stay focused in this endeavor. Pema Chodron's candor is, for the most part, appreciated and appropriate in this context, although I did not find audience participation to be effective. Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Awesome message...
This is the first introduction I had to Pema Chodron's work. She presents a much needed teaching with this seminar recording. Regardless of your personal spiritual beliefs, I believe this will help anyone who wants to stop habitual pattens in their life. Pema is charming, soft-spoken, humorous and non-judgemental. I like her style and I plan on picking up more of her work.

I had the very same problems with Pema's recordings "Don't Bite The Hook." I've tried the CDs in various players and hear the same strange sounds. It is noticeable when Pema speaks.
I assume something is wrong with her microphone attachment but not being an expert can't say for sure. I'm puzzled why these same odd sounds are produced on recordings from two different companies. I wonder why Sounds True and Shambhala Audio release these defective CDs.
If you don't mind "snap, crackle and pop" ... Read More

Netbeans 6.5 is recently released. Along with tons of new features, it has some enhancements for Web Services development. The foremost is that with Netbeans 6.5, you can easily develop Web Services applications and deploy on to Glassfish V3. There are are other features like configuring WS-Addressing, and exposing a SOAP based Web service as REST service through GUI caught my attention.

Nick Bradbury just had a tumor removed from his head. Glad to hear he's doing well:

The fact that I'm able to type this blog entry less than a week after the operation has me hopeful that recovery will be quicker than I was led to believe, but it will still be a few weeks before I'm able to really tackle any serious work.

Consumer electronics giant Sanyo's new stereo Internet radio--available in the U.S. in January--looks good and sounds good, but is a challenge to set up.
