Alanis at her best
This Alanis is more cutting - reverted to some of the stylings of Jagged Little Pill - but I'm not the first to state this, by any means. I could listen to Alanis' word stylings alone all day. She is a word majician - and a word stylist majician in both their extreme complexities. Her writing capability, that voice and the driving sound that made her what she's been for a long time... that's my Alanis.

Alanis Shares A Part of Her Life With You
Alanis has had some "life changes" as of late as we all know. In this CD she shares some of her innermost thoughts, feelings, and emotions. Many people can whine, rant, and rave about things like these. She does none of this. Instead she places it all in perspective. She is fantastic. I did not like "Jagged Little Pill" at all. However, this CD is beyond great.
This is a classic that will be played for years. Her music will haunt you. The emotions in the music are ones we all have. She has simply taken them out of her heart and shared them with us-amazing.

Alanis does it again!
What a great CD - the lyrics are included - which I like.
Alanis hit it out of the park on this one. She's moved on to speaking for all of us hurt by men to speaking for the planet and mankind hurt by war and pollution.
Good for her!!! I love the first song - Citizen of the Planet - had to get a t-shirt so I could wear it proudly when I go see her.

Flavors of Growth
I suspect that any fans that are "disappointed" or "unimpressed" with this great album listened to it only once or twice. It in fact is a different-sounding Alanis when compared with earlier albums. But continuing her growth as a singer/songwriter she grows on us as well. If you give this album a chance, you'll find it to be her best work to date. Her harmonies and lyrics are absolutely haunting and inspiring. She paints extremely clear pictures on life that anyone can relate to, and the arrangements will either make you smile or cry. It's a BRILLIANT album...but don't be too swift to judge it.
