Michael Franti's music rocks
I purchased this after I attended a performance by Michael Franti, he's great in person and connects with his audience just like this CD.

Franti Fever
Just caught Spearhead on this tour and it was excellent as always, one of the best live shows i've seen. while this record doesn't hold the relevance of yell fire and probably will end up lower on my favorite franti and spearhead albums than yell fire it is still an excellent album. easy to hear at times the influence of sly and robbie coming through on thier last couple albums and i never consider that a bad thing.

As Good as His Previous Work Was...This One is the Best!
I loved Everyone Deserves Music and I thought Yell Fire! was even better. Could Michael Franti and Spearhead's new album All Rebel Rockers possibly be any better? Yes it could and it is! I love every song on this album - a LOT! If you liked Yell Fire! and Everyone Deserves Music, I think you'll really love All Rebel Rockers.

3.5: Good, but it can't compare to Franti's earlier
I was first introduced to Franti through Stay Human. I was blown away by the concept album he crafted and the unique blend of music he created. I then listened to Yell Fire! and was mostly disappointed. His music fundamentally shifted to become much more rock-centered, which wasn't what I personally wanted. He also sounded a little too "preachy" to me with his words, and trust me, I clearly agree with all his messages.
In "All Rebel Rockers", Franti moves away from the more rock-centered feel of Yell Fire! and moves towards reggae. This blend, in my opinion, is much more classic Franti, and was very enjoyable. I especially like what he delivered with the steady rhythyms of "Life In The City" and "Soundsystem".
It still wasn't perfect, and the album still failed to have that "thing" that Stay Human had. The words are still kind of preachy, and he has failed to top "Oh My God" yet.
But overall, if this is any indication of more Franti to come, I'm happy.

New Franti and Spearhead
Franti's best so far. Gotta dig the reggae vibes on "Life in the City" and "Say Hey"
