Editorial Review:

Product DescriptionAfter over 5 million albums sold in the US, Slipknot returns with their most powerful
statement yet - All Hope Is Gone. Filled with the fury people have come to expect from
Slipknot as well as some extraordinary surprises, this album is the culmination of the
band' s 9 unique members, three platinum albums and their 10 year journey at the top
of the Hard Rock genre. Kicked off by the powerful crescendo that is Execute and
Gematria (The Killing Name) and ending with the blistering track All Hope Is Gone
- the album is a cohesive statement about the world today and truly cements the
band as one of Rock' s heavyweights. The lead single Psychosocial will propel the new
album to match and exceed the success of the last album, Vol 3: Subliminal Verses
which produced numerous Top 20 songs at Rock radio including a Top 5 track at Active and
Modern Rock radio.

Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - NOT AS GOOD AS THE OTHER ALBUMS
Warning, this album has repetitive lyrics and crappy music. I was a huge slipknot fan at one point. I thought they were so unique and talented. I was wrong. Their first album is still great but everything after that just gets worst and worst. I blame OPETH. After listening to them, this band sounds sooooo bad. I do like the first song of the album because it sounds like it came of their first CD. By the way, I know mate kill feed repeat is their first album but that lame CD doesn't count.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Still Awesome
Apparently some people think Slipknot went way wrong with this, but I just don't see it. This definitely is Slipknot, perhaps at its best. They decided to go with more of a death metal rhythm, but they also used a softer voice more often than before. Overall, I think it works out to the same level of their other albums - Great.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - favorite Slipknot CD yet
This is my favorite Slipknot CD to date. Lots of good stuff on this. However, even saying all that I only like ~1/2 the songs, but those songs ROCK!!!

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - ...ok this album is not as great as i thought
This album is too heavy and there is hardly any rythym. The only good songs are Psychosocial, Dead Memories, and Sulfur. Other than that it kinda sucks!

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - It's there... but it's not
it's an ok album... past albums were way better, i think the metal industry is molding slipknot... they created a revolution at one point, no one souded like them not anymore, now everyone sounds like them ... this album sounds like hatebreed, messhugah, lamb of god... they lost there originality. And i actually like the soft songs it actually shows there talent instead of wanking of a bunch of notes and headbanging.

You guys! Psyched about that whole Watchmen movie thing (previously, we've touched on Watchmen briefly, like, once or twice?), kinda wanna read the book, but you just can't see fitting a 400-page comic into your busy, busy schedule? Fortunately for you, there's The Condensed Version. (Via the often NSFW Journalista.)

Eureka! We'll call it...

NASA got a great big balloon for the 75th anniversary of its iconic Moffett airfield in the heart of Silicon Valley.…

All About N-Gage have the dirt on a game that looks like it has a lot of potential: Asphalt: Urban GT.  I can't say that I've played much more than some FIFA and other random stuff on the N-Gage, but a good racer can add a lot of value to a gaming platform.  Of course I'm still waiting to see if Call of Duty rocks as much as it should.

I've heard it said by Dave Winer and many many others: if only Dean had reinvested half the money raised into the Internet, then ...

OK, so you're the Dean Campaign Chief Information Officer in August 2003. The money starts to roll in. $20 million over six months, $2-4 million per month.

What would you spend the money on?

  1. What does your monthly budget look like?
  2. What is your application and infrastructure portfolio?
  3. How much will you allocate to maintenance?
  4. You're building from scratch, so what problems do you hope to avoid through wise architecture?
  5. What are your big milestones?
  6. Who are your key vendors?

How do you spend in consonance with the campaign strategy?

  1. How will you use the Internet to bring offline voters into the campaign at the same numbers as radio or television broadcasts?
  2. What is your online strategy for responding to attack ads and opposition pundits in radio, television and print?
  3. Online community takes time to build and is very hard to organize geographically. What will you do to match the state-by-state primary schedule?
  4. What can you do with online services to serve the campaign in caucus states?
  5. You are preparing for Bush to launch in Spring 2004. What are your countermeasures to reach out to moderate Republicans online while the GOP uses its advanced voter email systems to barrage 200 million validated email addresses?
  6. How will you lower the cost-per-vote vs. the GOP?
